{"id":12240,"date":"2021-11-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-17T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/?p=12240"},"modified":"2021-11-16T12:41:41","modified_gmt":"2021-11-16T17:41:41","slug":"2022-porsche-taycan-gts-sedan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/11\/17\/2022-porsche-taycan-gts-sedan\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 Porsche Taycan GTS Sedan gets sporty upgrades for $131,400"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Porsche unveiled the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/08\/24\/2022-porsche-taycan-revealed-with-android-auto-support-and-retro-colors\/\">2022 Taycan<\/a> back in August with novelties like wireless Android Auto, optional Remote Park Assist system, and some splashy new colors including Rubystar and Riviera Blue. A more significant update that comes with the model year change is a new trim level positioned between the 4S and the Turbo.<\/p>\n<p>The GTS is a m\u00e9lange of 4S and Turbo features, much like the 911 GTS is seen by many as the sweet spot in the rear-engined sports car&#8217;s lineup. With Launch Control turned on, the new Taycan flavor packs 590 horsepower, well above the 462 hp of the 4S but still significantly less than the 670 hp of the Turbo. Much like the latter, it gets the bigger 93.4-kWh battery pack, but details regarding the range will be disclosed at a later date.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12241\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12241\" style=\"width: 2400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12241\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/4_Taycan-GTS.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/4_Taycan-GTS.jpg 2400w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/4_Taycan-GTS-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/4_Taycan-GTS-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2400px) 100vw, 2400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12241\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">2022 Porsche Taycan GTS Sedan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It completes the sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, but that will obviously drain the battery much quicker. Once that happens, charging at the maximum of 270 kW will replenish the battery&#8217;s level from 5% to 80% in only 22 minutes and 30 seconds. It&#8217;s all possible thanks to the electric sedan\u2019s 800-volt architecture, enabling fast-charging capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of design, the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS gets the SportDesign front fascia as standard equipment, along with the high-gloss side window trim and the SportDesign side skirts, which come with &#8220;GTS&#8221; graphics. It borrows the 20-inch wheels from the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2020\/03\/01\/test-drive-porsche-taycan-turbo-s\/\">Turbo S<\/a>, but with an exclusive satin black appearance. The peeps from Zuffenhausen will also apply a dark treatment to the headlights, rear logo, lower portion of the mirrors, and even the &#8220;Porsche&#8221; lettering in the light bar at the back.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12243\" style=\"width: 2400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12243\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/7_Taycan-GTS.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/7_Taycan-GTS.jpg 2400w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/7_Taycan-GTS-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/7_Taycan-GTS-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2400px) 100vw, 2400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">2022 Porsche Taycan GTS Sedan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Taycan GTS utilizes the same suspension and other hardware as the Turbo, but Porsche says it has specially adapted the hardware for the new variant. The new trim has 390-mm brake rotors with six-piston calipers at the front axle or 30 mm bigger than those of the 4S. The 358-mm rear rotors with four-piston calipers are the same you&#8217;ll find in the 4S, but the calipers on both the front and rear are finished in red.<\/p>\n<p>An adaptive air suspension is standard while carbon-ceramic brakes and rear-wheel steering will cost you extra. You can also spend more and get the 21-inch RS Spyder wheels as well as the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport. A new option for the Taycan introduced for 2022MY is the Panoramic Roof with Variable Light Control nine liquid crystal film segments.
