Tesla had a record-breaking 2021 but this year is already looking much better as customer deliveries of the Model Y from Gigafactory Texas could start soon. How soon? Sources familiar with the company’s agenda have told Electrek they’re targeting the end of the quarter for the first vehicles to be shipped to their rightful owners.

Several Model Ys have been caught on camera in recent months at Gigafactory Texas and it is believed Tesla is currently doing last-minute testing with pre-production prototypes. Electrek goes on to say new employees are being hired in Austin – an obvious sign series production will commence sooner rather than later.

Speaking of the electric crossover being built at a new plant, the Model Y will also be assembled in the near future at Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg to cater to the European market. The EV automaker is preparing for a new record-shattering year as demand for the Model Y continues to remain at an impressively high level.
