We already know the Scenic name will be repurposed for a new EV after being in use since 1996 on a series of minivans. The company with the diamond logo has confirmed the future zero-emission model will ride on the CMF-EV platform.<\/p>\n<p>If that association of letters rings a bell, it\u2019s because the Megane E-Tech Electric and the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/11\/16\/2023-nissan-ariya-us-price-specs\/\">Nissan Ariya<\/a> also utilize the same architecture. A new report from <em>Auto Express<\/em> states the Scenic replacement will be yet another crossover, bigger than the Megane in order to compete with the Volkswagen ID.4.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15810\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/spring.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1269\" height=\"681\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Renault\u2019s head honcho Luca de Meo has told the British publication the hydrogen concept teased during the conference will eventually spawn a production version. <em>AE<\/em> believes the showcar we\u2019ll see in May is going to provide a window into the Scenic\u2019s future. Details are limited at this point, but the company&#8217;s boss did say it will be more spacious than the Megane E-Tech Electric while offering additional range.<\/p>\n<p>While the Scenic minivan has been offered with three rows of seats, its electric successor will come exclusively with five seats. We also know from Renault&#8217;s VP of engineering Gilles Le Borgne an all-wheel-drive version is being considered to mirror the old Scenic RX4. According to the report, there could be 40- and 60-kWh battery packs and fast-charging from 10% to 80% in half an hour.<\/p>\n<p>The design is expected to take after the Megane, but with a taller roof for superior headroom. It should be more practical in terms of cargo by featuring a tailgate extending all the way down to the bumper for a bigger opening area.<\/p>\n<p>The concept car&#8217;s novel hydrogen-fueled combustion engine will showcase Renault is keeping its options open when it comes to curbing CO2 emissions.
