By far the most important tidbit was the first official image of the Jeep EV, seen here in all of its boxy glory. The two-tone little crossover has \u201chidden\u201d rear door handles \u00e0 la Alfa Romeo and boasts split headlights with an upper LED strip for the daytime running lights.<\/p>\n<p>Jeep didn\u2019t go into any details about its new product, but it\u2019s widely believed the unnamed model will slot below the Renegade to effectively serve as the company\u2019s smallest vehicle. We do know the crossover is scheduled to hit the market early next year, which matches a recent report from <a href=\"https:\/\/europe.autonews.com\/latest-launches\/jeep-fiat-small-crossovers-approved-production-polish-plant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Automotive News Europe<\/em><\/a> about production starting in Q4 2022.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16104\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/274705534_933300617340485_7437444792479681626_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1417\" height=\"839\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/274705534_933300617340485_7437444792479681626_n.jpg 1417w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/274705534_933300617340485_7437444792479681626_n-696x412.jpg 696w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/274705534_933300617340485_7437444792479681626_n-1068x632.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1417px) 100vw, 1417px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is believed the Jeep EV will ride on the same CMP platform as the Peugeot e-2008 and Opel Mokka-e, two electric crossovers already being sold in Europe.\u00a0 An equivalent Fiat is said to be in the works as well, along with an Alfa Romeo model believed to be dubbed <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2022\/02\/14\/alfa-romeo-first-ev-subcompact-crossover-2024\/\">Brennero<\/a>. Codenamed \u201cProject 516,\u201d Jeep\u2019s version will initially hit the assembly line in November with a gasoline engine as the EV will follow in February 2023. Come January 2024, a mild-hybrid derivative is expected to join the lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Being a Jeep, logic tells us the purely electric model is going to have all-wheel drive, which consequently means it\u2019ll feature dual motors. As for the battery, both the Peugeot e-2008 and Opel Mokka-e share a 50-kWh pack with a usable capacity of 46.2 kWh. The two crossovers are also available as hatchbacks as the e-208 and Corsa-e, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Jeep EV will allegedly use batteries from Chinese company CATL, but that will change in July 2023 when BYD will take over as the supplier.
