According to a press release, BMW delivered 70,207 electrified vehicles to customers during the first three-months of 2021. In comparison, BMW sold 30,692 units during the same period in 2020. Therefore, an increase of 128.7 percent this year. The numbers also include 14,161 units of the fully electric <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/03\/06\/test-drive-2021-bmw-ix3-electric-suv\/\">BMW iX3<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/03\/23\/video-review-bmw-i3s-three-year-review\/\">BMW i3<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2020\/05\/10\/test-drive-2020-mini-cooper-se-electric-car\/\">MINI Cooper S<\/a> models. The figure points to a jump in sales of 119.3 percent over 2020 (6,457 units).<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s just the tip of the iceberg. With over 12 fully electric models by 2023, BMW has a\u00a0target of increasing its sales of fully electric vehicles\u00a0by an average of more than 50 per cent per year through to\u00a02025. By then, the BMW Group plans to have nearly two million fully electric vehicles on roads worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BMW-i3s-Autocross-4782.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-484\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BMW-i3s-Autocross-4782.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1620\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BMW-i3s-Autocross-4782.jpg 1620w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BMW-i3s-Autocross-4782-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1620px) 100vw, 1620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BMW will unveil in a few weeks the all-new <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/04\/19\/bmw-i4-m-sport-debuts-at-auto-shanghai-2021\/\">i4 Gran Coupe<\/a>, along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/04\/05\/bmw-ix-m60-top-model-could-make-560hp-all-wheel-drive\/\">iX electric crossover<\/a>. The former will directly take on the Tesla Model 3 &#8211; one of the strongest performers in the segment &#8211; while the iX goes after the plethora of electric crossovers that have recently emerged. Additional variants and new models will arrive in 2022-2023, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/02\/18\/2023-bmw-i7-electric-limousine-seen-testing-video\/\">7 Series electric i7<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2019\/09\/25\/report-bmw-i5-and-bmw-ix1-electric-getting-the-green-light\/\">i5 business sedan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/02\/08\/bmw-i1-electric-hatch-not-coming-in-the-near-future\/\">iX1<\/a> entry-level EV, <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/03\/17\/mini-plans-to-go-full-electric-countryman-electric-coming\/\">MINI Countryman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2020\/12\/01\/mini-electric-gp-2021\/\">GP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Markets like China &#8211; where the electric segment is rapidly growing &#8211; will receive additional models, including a rumored 3 Series electric and some MINI products. By 2025, BMW will revamp its entire electric cars strategy and technology. The automaker already announced a new platform &#8211; working name Neue Klasse. The EV-centric platform will host a new range of vehicles, from a new iX3 to more electric crossovers.
