A more practical <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/03\/04\/2021-porsche-taycan-cross-turismo-debut\/\">Cross Turismo<\/a> recently joined the lineup to serve as the only electric wagon in the premium segment and the peeps from Zuffenhausen are working on a Macan EV coming in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>A new report from <em>Autocar<\/em> stipulates another vehicle without a combustion engine might be in the works as Porsche is looking to develop a sub-Taycan sedan. The British magazine claims it would use the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) currently being jointly developed by Porsche and Audi to underpin the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/05\/10\/porsche-macan-ev-teaser-photos\/\">electric Macan<\/a> and the Q6 E-Tron SUVs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7249\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7710.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7710.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7710-1536x864.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Allegedly going by the &#8220;Cajun&#8221; moniker, the third electric Porsche is apparently to be twinned with the Audi A4 E-Tron, but positioned higher to follow the strategy used for the Taycan and <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/02\/09\/2022-audi-e-tron-gt-reveal\/\">E-Tron GT<\/a>. It is believed the newcomer will be available in a rear-wheel-drive configuration with a single electric motor and a beefier dual-motor setup enabling AWD.<\/p>\n<p>Bear in mind the Porsche Cajun hasn&#8217;t been approved for production yet, so even if it gets the green light, the more compact electric sports sedan is unlikely to arrive before the middle of the decade. <em>Autocar<\/em> claims the company will have the necessary production capacity at its Leipzig factory in Germany following the \u20ac600-million investment announced in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7250\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7680-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7680-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7680-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/b_CUR7680-2048x1152.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The smaller Porsche electric sedan would have to do battle not just with the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/03\/17\/2022-bmw-i4-debut\/\">BMW i4<\/a> and Tesla Model 3, but also an already announced <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/02\/26\/mercedes-c-class-ev-coming-after-2024\/\">EV equivalent of the Mercedes C-Class Sedan<\/a> coming after 2024. While it&#8217;s too early to talk about pricing, an educated guess tells us the Cajun would be significantly cheaper than the Taycan, which kicks off at $79,900 in the United States for the base rear-wheel-drive version.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note: 2016 Porsche Vision Turismo pictured.
