The important disclosure is made in a recent report from British magazine <em>Autocar<\/em>, claiming the new arrival will be related to the Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback.<\/p>\n<p>That makes sense considering the Enyaq is essentially a larger and more spacious version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/05\/29\/vw-id4-best-selling-ev-europe\/\">ID.4<\/a>. Skoda\u2019s design boss Oliver Stefani told <em>Autocar<\/em> the company will continue to prioritize cargo capacity going forward as the Czech brand is aware it&#8217;s one of the main reasons that customers choose to buy their cars.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5319\" src=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Skoda-Enyaq-iV-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Skoda-Enyaq-iV-1.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/evglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Skoda-Enyaq-iV-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Skoda is confident a model that maximizes interior room can still be a &#8220;nice, attractive car&#8221; even with an extended wheelbase and longer rear overhang. That being said, the Enyaq Coupe will be more along the lines of a style-driven EV as it will sacrifice some of the practicality in exchange for a coupe-styled roofline. The different body will likely impact rear headroom and the amount of space in the cargo area, but Skoda is confident it&#8217;s a sacrifice some people will be willing to make.<\/p>\n<p>Details about the more compact crossover are shrouded in mystery at this point, but we do know it&#8217;s expected to arrive in the coming years. At the same time, Skoda is working on an entry-level EV on the MEB Lite architecture currently being <a href=\"https:\/\/evglobe.com\/2021\/03\/22\/2025-seat-electric-city-car-teaser\/\">developed by SEAT<\/a>. Logic tells us the Spanish brand will get its own version of the electric car, along with the VW main brand to replace the e-up! with an ID.1 (name not official). These small EVs will be coming out around the middle of the decade.<\/p>\n<p>Expect these new electric cars from Skoda to be among the most spacious in their respective segments, much like the combustion-engined models are the roomiest.
