January 26 will be the day when Tesla will host the 2021 Q4 earnings call and publish the financial results for September – December 2021. The announcement was made via a brief press release, which also specifies the company will provide full-year results after what has been yet another hugely successful year in terms of sales.
Now that we know when the earnings call will take place, it also means Elon Musk will intervene on January 26 to talk about some of the vehicles. According to a tweet from December, there will be a “product roadmap on next earnings call.” With the statement posted as a reply to a question regarding the Cybertruck, it quite possibly means the 50-year-old executive will shed light about when the electric pickup will enter series production.
We should also learn about the updated trim levels and pricing considering Tesla has wiped out most of the relevant information from the Cybertruck’s dedicated page on the official website. For the time being, we only know that production of the flagship quad-motor setup will be prioritized, meaning early adopters will get the most expensive version of the bunch.
Expect to pay top dollar for the range-topping Cybertruck seeing as how the tri-motor derivative was previously advertised at just under $70,000. The former crown jewel of the lineup was touted as having more than 500 miles (805 kilometers) of range and a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.9 seconds before hitting 130 mph (209 km/h).
Below it was the midrange Dual Motor AWD with a $49,900 sticker offering 300+ miles (483+ kilometers) of range, 0 to 60 mph in four and a half seconds, and a top speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). At the bottom of the food chain was the Single Motor RWD for $39,900 with over 250 miles (402 kilometers) of range, a 0 to 60 mph in six and a half seconds, and a maximum velocity of $39,900. All had a payload capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tow rating of up to 14,000 lbs for the tri-motor variant.
When it does eventually arrive, the Tesla Cybertruck will not have a painted body or door handles. It is getting four-wheel steering and the controversial yoke steering wheel. The company’s top brass has previously mentioned it will be a “tech bandwagon” and is going to feature a slightly different design compared to the concept from November 2019.
