2020 Audi e-tron Sportback Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+

The 2020 Audi e-tron Sportback was just named an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and was the safest 2020 vehicle in the “Large SUV” category.

Throughout every IIHS test, the Audi e-tron Sportback received top marks. In fact, in every single test, the latest e-tron model received the highest grade. The E-Tron Sportback follows in the safety footsteps of the e-tron SUV with “Good” scores on all six crash tests and for its standard LED headlights.

The IIHS deemed the vehicles similar enough to base the crash-test ratings on the 2019 E-Tron SUV in all-wheel drive and the Premium Plus trim. Furthermore, Audi’s autonomous safety features were rated highly, too.

The motive force-assist know-how ranks “Superior” based mostly on its computerized emergency braking system that comes customary. Known as “Audi Pre Sense Entrance,” the system on the E-Tron can keep away from a crash with one other car or a pedestrian at 25 mph, and might gradual to just about a halt at 12 mph.

In standard form, buyers can pick from two versions of the Audi e-tron Sportback: 50 quattro and 55 quattro, with the entry-level version getting a 71kWh battery pack and 308bhp, with an official range of 216 miles.

The 55 quattro has a bigger 95kWh battery, boosting its range to 278 miles, along with a power increase to 400 hp. This version is no slouch, getting from 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds.

The flagship model is the e-tron S Sportback with a 95kWh battery and a 496 hp power output. This setup makes it the quickest in the range, managing 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 130mph. The S model can only manage 226 miles on a full charge.
