2022 Jaguar I-Pace unveiled with new infotainment, simplified lineup

The Jaguar I-Pace has been around for approximately three years and now the time has come for the stylish electric crossover to get a few updates. It might look virtually the same on the outside, but there’s a new Atlas Grey grille tip finish and an optional Bright Pack with several design accents like satin chrome window surrounds and an Atlas Gray finish for the rear diffuser.

For the 2022 model year, the I-Pace will be offered in the United States in shades such as Portofino Blue, Caldera Red, Aruba, and Eiger Grey. Bear in mind Jaguar will be selling the luxurious zero-emissions SUV exclusively in the top-spec HSE trim going forward in the US, with a starting price of $69,900 before the $1,150 destination charges.

Stepping inside the cabin, the 2022 I-Pace comes fitted with the latest version of Jaguar’s Pivi Pro infotainment system featuring a simplified menu structure as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. It supports over-the-air updates, which will also be available for the battery management and charging to effectively make the electric crossover better post-purchase.

Speaking of charging, the US-spec I-Pace will come bundled from now on with an 11 kW onboard charger, while using a 100-kW charger will give you 63 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Much like before, the dual-motor setup provides a combined 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque, good for a sprint to 60 mph in just four and a half seconds.

There are more changes than meets the eye as the 2022 model year comes along with cabin air ionization with PM2.5 filtration. In addition, the standard equipment list now includes 16-way heated and cooled leather front seats, 20-inch wheels with a five-spoke design and glossy dark gray finish, along with a powered tailgate and LED headlights.

Jaguar will also throw in an 825-watt, 16-speaker Meridian sound system with a subwoofer, while the standard safety array of systems includes everything from adaptive cruise control (with steering assist and stop & go) to blind spot assist. The 2022 I-Pace also boasts a head-up display, emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive speed limiter.
