In a tweet earlier this week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk pledged to expedite the opening of more service centers. A Tesla Model 3 Performance owner tweeted Musk to inquire about additional service centers in Northeastern United States. The Tesla owner said that wait times are now three to four weeks out and some of the repairs, like the front upper control arm, are not possible via the Tesla Mobile Service.
“Thank[s] for bringing this up. Tesla will expedite service center openings. Have you tried our mobile service that comes to you,” replied Elon Musk. The owner replied: “I have! Mobile service is only able to fix specific issues though. In my case, I had to replace my front upper control arm, which cannot be done by mobile service. Thank you for giving me some confidence in the future of Tesla Service! Today’s experience wasn’t great.”
Yo @elonmusk when is Tesla opening more service centers in the Northeast US? Wait time is 3+ weeks for an appointment.

The Tesla Mobile Service can be scheduled in the Tesla app. It has been the best option during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it doesn’t solve all the issues. The mobile repair unit uses a van brings so its limited to what it can service. Tesla’s growth has certainly put pressure on its repair centers and that has been their Achilles’ Heel. In order to satisfy customers coming from premium brands, additional service centers are the first step in that process. However, it’s important to point out that some states still ban Tesla sales and service centers.
