Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV Shows Interior Details In New Teaser Video

There’s no shortage of teaser videos for the Tonale as Alfa Romeo has already previewed its compact crossover a few times. The company’s first hybrid vehicle will break cover on February 8, so there’s still plenty of time to build up hype until the world premiere. In the latest episode of the lengthy teaser campaign, the Italian brand takes a peek inside the cabin.

The 13-second clip shows black leather upholstery with red stitching and the Alfa Romeo logo embroidered onto the headrests. We also get to check out the sporty steering wheel with perforated leather and what seem to be aluminum shift paddles behind it. The Italian flag appears to adorn one of the exterior lights as a nod to the firm’s place of birth 111 years ago.

Previous teasers have shown a fully digital instrument cluster and hints of the exterior largely carried over from the namesake concept car introduced nearly three years ago. The Alfa Romeo Tonale is believed to feature a PHEV setup for its top-spec configuration, good for approximately 240 horsepower sent to both front and rear wheels.

If you’re wondering about the crossover’s size, it will certainly be smaller than the Stelvio. Unconfirmed reports state it will be 4,528 millimeters (178.2 inches) long, 1,835 millimeters (72.2 inches) wide, and 1,835 millimeters (72.2 inches) tall. It’s said to have a wheelbase of 1,835 millimeters (72.2 inches) and ride on alloy wheels no bigger than 20 inches.

Going on sale in Europe in the second half of the year, the Tonale is also scheduled to arrive in the United States in 2023. Alfa Romeo will assemble the sporty crossover at its Pomigliano d’Arco factory in both left- and right-hand drive configurations. Regular trim levels will include Super, Sprint, and Ti, but early adopters will also be able to get a limited-run Special equipped with all the bells and whistles.
