Technical Specs: Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback revealed

The technical specs of the Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback were released earlier today. Along with the specs, we’re also getting the first official images of the two e-tron premium cars.

The Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback feature three motors, two electric motors on the rear axle and another one at the front. With the power of the tri-motor setup combined, the electric SUVs offer an impressive 496 horsepower (370 kilowatts) and 718 pound-feet (973 Newton-meters) of torque for eight seconds.

Both use a 95-kWh battery pack delivering a range up to 223.7 miles (360 kilometers) for the E-Tron S and for 226.8 miles (365 kilometers) for the E-Tron S Sportback. Both are rated on the WLTP cycle, so the EPA is likely more conservative.

The additional range on the e-tron Sportback comes from the lower drag coefficient.

The acceleration is quite impressive: 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds four with a top speed of 130.5 mph (210 km/h).

Both e-tron SUVs come with the iconic Quattro all-wheel drive system, but the they’re mainly using the rear-wheel drive setup.

Customers will be able to order the e-tron SUVs with standard 20-inch wheels or an optional and larger 21-inch set. At a later date, an even bigger 22-inch choice will be added to the lineup. The matrix LED headlights are also going to cost you extra, and so will the virtual exterior mirrors and the head-up display.

Audi will have the E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback on sale in Europe this fall, with pricing in Germany starting at €93,800 and €96,050, respectively. There’s no word yet if and when the sporty electric SUVs will be available in the United States.
